Restaurant Spotlight: Lola Taverna
This relatively new Mediterranean restaurant is perched on the most perfect corner of the west village, visible from about 5 different streets of traffic. Since it has 3 sides of sidewalk, it’s become one of the larger outdoor dining set ups in the area, and it’s definitely one of the cutest! Lush tropical trees and planters filled with flowers, and the tables and chairs aren’t just plastic pulled from storage but a real comfortable dining set!
I spotted this restaurant several months ago on a walk with Ryan but went for the first time just last week! Many friends had raved the food was delicious, and the drinks great too! We went for my bestie Veronica’s birthday with a group of 10 people and it was perfect for a larger party! Easy to share a range of dishes, from salads to apps to entrees.
Dining at Lola Taverna
The food: here are some of my favorites I tried!
If you are looking for something fresh, order this incredible Greek Salad! Tri color tomatoes, Feta, pickled onion, pepper, cucumber, and olives in EVOO with oregano! Simple yet so good.
If you’re looking for something indulgent: Fried Spanikopita. Spinach inside baked phyllo dough! Can never go wrong with them but these were REAL GOOD
If you’re looking for something interesting: get the bao buns! We ordered them with chicken topped with a zesty seasoning, slaw and pickles. Mediterranean with a twist! If you’re looking for a better picture I’m sorry 😳
