Home Sweet Home

Interior Design, Cooking, Gardening & More

Fill each room with your favorite things…

Renting in New York can be a doozy. Expensive, competitive, and it seems there is always something you have to be willing to trade off.

Sometimes you have to find the hidden potential. When we walked into our apartment for the first time it was completely gutted - a dirty construction zone with no kitchen or bathroom yet. Just some walls! The space was small and simple, but we knew in an instant. It was the one!

Light streaming through the windows, an open living space to easily gather, and a doorway to a private terrace. I love making this space feel like home.

Designing on a Budget

We’ve lived in our apartment for over a year now, and I’m still working on it. I love interior design, but I rarely buy investment pieces since I’m still renting and my needs have changed from apartment to apartment. Now that I’m sharing a space with my fiancée, it’s about making sure that this feels like home for both of us. Though we purchased some new furniture to better fit our space, many of our furnishings we’ve had for years, or got a great deal on!
